The Shamrock Trail
The very beautiful Shamrock trail take you into the hills behind Dingle with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and its rugged off-shore Islands.
Type: Mountain Ride
Duration: 2.5 Hours
Suitable for: Intermediate and Advanced riders.
Dates: March - October
These trails to the most scenic beaches on the West Kerry coast offer opportunities to gallop along stretching golden sands followed by wading in the clear cooling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, excellent therapy for horses and riders alike!
Type: Long Beaches
Duration: 5.5 Hours
Suitable for: Intermediate and Advanced riders.

Horse Riding Holidays 2024
Explore both the south western area of the Peninsula and the north coast via the Conor Pass, which is one of the highest Irish mountain passes. We overnight at each destination before returning to Dingle at the end of the week.

Duration: 3 or 7 day holiday
Suitable for: Intermediate, Strong Intermediate, Advanced riders.

What you need to know about our horse riding

All of our horses are ridden with English Style Saddles.

An English Saddle

Our Shamrock Trails suit Novice riders with previous experience as well as more advanced riders. Novice riders can take the leisurely routes while the more advanced riders can enjoy the canter tracks along these very scenic and outstandingly beautiful green mountain routes overlooking the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Wild Atlantic Beaches & The Great Blasket Island Trail rides are suitable for Intermediate and Advanced riders only.

Here are some guidelines to help you judge your riding ability:

  • BeginnerA rider with little or no experience.
  • NoviceA rider who is comfortable and in control at the walk and/or trot, but has limited experience trotting and/or cantering.
  • IntermediateA rider who is confident and in control in all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), but does not ride regularly.
  • Strong IntermediateAn intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for up to 6 hours per day.
  • AdvancedAll of the above, plus the ability to handle a spirited horse in open country.

Many of our rides are tide dependent as we take in the beach as part of these trails, it’s best  to book at least a week in advance if possible.
